CAROB CAKE

This carob cake is packed with tasty ingredients like corn flour, carob powder, caster sugar, margarine or butter, cold milk, whipping cream and other added elements that enhance its taste. Every piece is filled with delicious fillings that you can never resist.

6 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Line the bases and sides of two shallow dishes with clingfilm , allowing it to hang very slightly over the edge.
  • Sift the flour on to a plate. Cream together the butter or margarine and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy and the consistency of whipped cream.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, add 1 tablespoon flour with each. Fold in the remaining flour alternately with the milk using a large metal spoon.
  • Spread equally into the prepared dishes. Cover loosely with kitchen paper. Cook one at a time on Full for 6 minutes. Allow to cool to lukewarm, then invert on to a wire rack.
  • Peel away the clingfilm and leave until completely cold. Sandwich together with cream or fresh fruit. Add 5 ml of vanilla essence to the creamed ingredients.

  • 25 grams carob powder
  • 25 grams cornflour    
  • 100 grams self-raising  flour
  • 150 grams butter or margarine
  • 175 grams castor sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons cold milk
  • 3 tablespoons jam  
  • 120 ml double or whipping cream, whipped
  • Icing sugar, sifted, for dusting
