SWEET-SOUR CHICKEN WITH CHICORY

Preparation Method :

  • Slash the flesh of each drumstick at least in 2 - 3 places. Arrange on a deep dinner plate, fleshy parts towards the edge.
  • Remove a cone-shaped core from the base of the chicory to reduce bitterness.
  • Halve the chicory lengthways and place, cut sides down, on each side of the chicken.
  • Sprinkle the celery slices over the top. Beat together the remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken.
  • Cover with clingfilm and slit it to allow steam to escape. Cook on Full for 6 minutes. Allow to stand for about 2 minutes before eating.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon malt or rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon clear honey
  • 250 grams chicken drumsticks, skinned
  • 1 head chicory, trimmed
  • 1 celery stalk, thinly sliced
