CHICKEN A LA KING

A three-step recipe, Chicken A La King is considered as one of the traditional festive dish which is usually prepared in different western places. This dish comes with unique and mouth-watering appearance and aroma. So, you can try this recipe and taste its delectable flavor.

Preparation Method :

  • Put the butter or margarine in a casserole dish. Heat, uncovered, on Defrost for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the flour, then gradually blend in the stock and cream. Cook, uncovered, at least for 5 minutes until thickened, whisking.
  • Stir in all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover with a plate and reheat for 5 minutes. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving on toast.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 300 ml warm chicken stock
  • 3 tablespoons double (heavy) cream
  • 1 canned red pimiento, cut into narrow strips
  • 250 grams canned sliced mushrooms, drained
  • Salt and fleshly ground black pepper
  • 300 grams cooked chicken, diced
  • 1 tablespoon medium-dry sherry
  • Freshly made toast, to serve
