ITALIAN BREAD

Makes :
1 Loaf

Preparation Time :
25 minutes

Cooking Time :
8 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Warm, uncovered, on Defrost for 1 minute. Add the yeast and rub in the fat.
  • Mix to a dough with the water. Knead on a floured surface until smooth, elastic and no longer sticky. Return to the cleaned and dried but now lightly greased bowl.
  • Cover the bowl with clingfilm and slit it to allow steam to escape. Warm on Defrost for 2 minutes. Rest in the microwave for 6 minutes.
  • Repeat 3 - 4 times until the dough has doubled in size. Quickly re-knead.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams half white and half wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 sachet easy-blend dried yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sun-dried tomato puree 
  • 1 tablespoon red pesto 
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 300 ml lukewarm water
