FRUITED TEA BREAD

Searching for an excellent microwave recipe is finally over with fruited tea bread. This special recipe is not so complicated to prepare through following its given instructions. Once you master its baking procedures, you will absolutely enjoy your every day meals.

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
18 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Closely line the base and side of a soufflé dish with clingfilm , allow it to hang very slightly over the side.
  • Put the fruit, sugar and tea into a bowl, cover and cook on Full for 6 minutes. Stir in the flour, allspice and egg with a fork, then transfer the mixture to the prepared dish.
  • Arrange the almonds on top. Cover loosely with kitchen paper and cook on Defrost for 10 minutes or until the cake is well risen .
  • Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack by holding the clingfilm. Warm the syrup in a cup on Defrost for 2 minutes.
  • Peel the clingfilm off the cake and brush the top with the warmed syrup. Serve sliced and buttered.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams self-raising wholemeal flour     
  • 250 grams mixed dried fruit  
  • 100 grams dark soft brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold strong black tea
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 9 whole almonds, blanched
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • Butter, for spreading
