MALAYSIAN-STYLE PEANUT BEEF WITH COCONUT

Preparation Method :

  • Place the onions, garlic and beef into a Dutch oven. Mix together well, make sure the beef is broken up thoroughly.
  • Cover with clingfilm (plastic wrap) and slit it to allow steam to escape. Cook on Full for 10 minutes, turning the dish twice.
  • Uncover and stir in all the remaining ingredients except the rice. Cover as before and cook on Full for a further 10 minutes, turning the dish three times.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes. Uncover and stir, then serve with the boiled rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 ml boiling water
  • 150 grams rice, boiled    
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 150 grams crunchy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons desiccated coconut
  • ½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
