ROLLS WITH TOPPINGS

Rolls with Toppings are one of those lip-smacking foods you can prepare for breakfast! Start the day right by bombing its ingredients to satisfy your hunger! It would mean a lot once you’ve followed the instructions on how to prepare for it!

30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Warm, uncovered, on Defrost for 2 minutes. Add the yeast and rub in the fat.
  • Mix to a dough with the skimmed milk. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic but not sticky.
  • Place it in a cleaned and dried but lightly greased bowl.
  • Cover the bowl with clingfilm and slit it to allow steam to escape. Warm on Defrost for 2 minutes. Rest in the microwave for 6 minutes.
  • Repeat 3 - 4 times until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Knead quickly and lightly after the first rising, then divide equally into 16 pieces.
  • Shape four pieces into round rolls and cut a slit across the top of each. Roll four pieces into ropes, each of 20 cm long and tie in a knot.
  • Shape four pieces and make three diagonal slits on top of each.
  • Divide each of the remaining four pieces into three, roll into narrow ropes and plait together.
  • Arrange all the rolls on a greased and floured baking tray and leave in the warm until doubled in size.
  • Brush the tops with egg, sprinkle with poppy seeds, toasted sesame seeds and bake conventionally at 230°C / 450°F / gas mark 8 for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and transfer the rolls to a wire rack. Store in an airtight container when cold.

  • 500 grams bread flour 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 sachet easy-blend dried yeast 
  • 2 tablespoons butter, margarine or lard
  • 300 ml skimmed milk
