RAISIN BUN SCONES

Raisin Bun Scones is such an appealing food to eat during breakfast, afternoon or midnight snacks! It has its different taste, so if you want for something new on a food, this is the perfect food to include on your recipes!

6 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Sift together the flour with the cream of tartar, bicarbonate of soda and salt into a bowl. Toss in the raisins , sugar and finely rub in the butter or margarine.
  • Add the buttermilk and mix to form a fairly soft dough. Transfer on to a floured surface and knead quickly and lightly until smooth.
  • Pat out evenly then cut into rounds with a cookie cutter.
  • Re-roll the trimmings and continue cutting into rounds. Place round the edge of a buttered 25 cm / 10 in flat plate.
  • Brush with egg and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Cook, uncovered, on Full for 6 minutes, turning the plate 2 times.
  • Allow to stand for 54 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve while still warm.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons castor sugar
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 150 ml buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
