RED-COOKED BEEF WITH BROCCOLI

This red-cooked beef with broccoli is the healthy option for your family. Because this recipe can make you feel healthy all the time with the help of the broccoli itself. You can easily serve this with 10 people, and for the preparation it will only take 40 minutes of your time, and lastly for the cooking time it will take you a lot of time for this, 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Preparation Method :

  • Cut the meat into 1 inch cubes and place in a saucepan. Add the ginger, garlic, soy sauce and sherry.
  • Sprinkle over the sugar and 5-spice powder.
  • Pour in the stock and bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 1 to 1½ hours, until the meat is tender.
  • Divide the broccoli into florets and add to the pan.
  • Boil vigorously, uncovered, until the broccoli is just cooked and the stock reduced and thickened.
  • Arrange the meat and broccoli on a warmed serving dish and garnish with a radish flower and shredded spring onions.
  • Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ kg lean stewing steak
  • 1 inch piece root ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 10 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 100 grams sugar crystals
  • 2 teaspoon 5-spice powder
  • 1 liter beef stock
  • 750 grams broccoli

Garnish

  • Radish flower, made by cutting V shapes out of the top of a trimmed radish
  • Shredded spring onions
