LAMB WITH SPRING ONIONS (SCALLIONS)

You don’t need to ask your wife to go out on a date to the finest restaurants down town on Valentine’s Day. You can prepare this simple dish at home that will surely budget friendly. Your wife will never stop saying, “I loved you”.

45 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix together 2 tablespoon of the soy sauce, salt, sherry and 4 tablespoons of the oil. Add the lamb slices and leave to marinate for 5 minutes.
  • Mix the remaining soy sauce with the vinegar, sesame seed oil and pepper in a small bowl. Shred two of the spring onions (scallions) and set aside for garnish. Cut the remainder into 5 cm (2 inch) pieces.
  • Heat the remaining oil in a pan. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 10 seconds. Add the meat and stir-fry until browned.
  • Add the spring onion (scallion) pieces to the meat with the vinegar mixture. Stir-fry for a few seconds.
  • Serve hot, garnished with the reserved spring onions (scallions).

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 2 tablespoon dry sherry 
  • 8 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 500 gram lean lamb, very thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black peppercorns 
  • 16 spring onions
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
