CHILI BEEF WITH CELERY

Want something hot and something menu? Chili Beef with celery is perfect for you. This dish is best for cold winter days, due to the hotness yet still blend with the sweetness of the sugar and other ingredients. Also perfect to serve with bread and rice.

Preparation Method :

  • Remove any fat from the meat and slice the steak thinly across the grain. Wash the celery and cut across into 1.5-cm slices.
  • Rinse the black beans under cold water, drain and chop. Mix the soy sauce, chili bean sauce, sugar and corn flour with 4 tablespoons cold water.
  • Heat a wok and add oil, swirling to coat the inside. Stir-fry beef over a high heat, tossing until browned.
  • Remove to a plate. Add the remaining oil and stir-fry celery 2 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon.
  • Add the garlic to the oil remaining in the pan and stir a few seconds.
  • Add the black beans and stir-fry for a few seconds more. Stir in sauce mixture, cooking until it boils and thickens.
  • Return the celery to the wok and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the t stir until reheated through.
  • Serve immediately with hot steamed rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams lean grilling steak
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 4 teaspoons canned salt black beans
  • 4 teaspoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chili bean sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour
  • 4 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
