The beef with thyme, orange and red wine is combined with juicy ingredients like beef dripping, streaky bacon, potatoes, Swede, stewing beef, good-quality wine and other appetizing seasonings. With red wine, fresh thyme and orange, the dish appears more tasty and tempting.

Preparation Method :
- Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 2/150°C/300°F.
- Heat the dripping in a large flameproof casserole and fry the meat with the bacon until browned all over.
- Add the onions and garlic, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add rest of the ingredients and bring to boil.
- Cover, place it in the centre of the oven to simmer for 4 hours, and serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 25 grams beef dripping
- 900 grams stewing beef (fat and gristle removed), diced
- 100 grams rind less smoked streaky bacon, cubed
- 2 large onions, peeled and sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
- 500 grams potatoes, peeled and diced
- 225 grams Swede, peeled and diced
- Juice and zest of 2 large oranges
- 6 tablespoon orange Curacao
- 4 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)
- 150 ml Basic Beef Stock
- 275 ml good-quality red wine
