STEAK AND MUSHROOM PIE

Steak and a mushroom inside a pie are very delicious, but it needs a perfect procedure to prevent the content and the broth to scatter. These are the required ingredients that you need to get old-fashion steak and mushrooms packet of frozen puff pastry or thawed.

25 minutes

Cooking Time :
35 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Place the cooked steak and mushroom mixture in a small pie dish and leave to cool if necessary.
  • Roll out the pastry (dough) to an oval shape larger than the pie dish. With a sharp knife cut out a pastry lid.
  • Brush edge of pie dish with water, then cut strips of pastry the same width as rim and arrange on rim.
  • Brush with water, then place pastry lid on top. Knock up and crimp edges, decorate with leaves or tassels made from trimmings.
  • Brush top of pie, not edges, with beaten egg. Cook in a preheated hot oven (220°C/425°F, Gas Mark 7) for 25-30 minutes until well risen and golden.

  • 500 grams packet frozen puff pastry, thawed 
  • 2 small egg, beaten
