BEEF AND VEGETABLE PIE

20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C/380°F/ Gas Mark 5.
  • Spray a non-stick frying-pan with cooking spray an J then fry the mince for 5 minutes to brown. Drain off any fat.
  • Mix together the gravy granules and the boiling water to make a thick gravy.
  • Add the gravy, drained vegetables and Worcestershire sauce, if using, to the mince. Season to taste.
  • Place in an ovenproof pie dish and cover with the filo pastry, crumpling up the edges and tucking them into the sides of the dish. Spray briefly with low-fat cooking spray.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams extra-lean steak mince
  • 250 ml boiling water
  • 300 grams of canned mixed vegetables
  • 2 tablespoon gravy granules
  • A dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 filo pastry sheets  
  • Low-fat cooking spray
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
