HAM AND PINEAPPLE KEBABS

Ham and pineapple kebabs are a healthy dish. Indeed, it’s healthy because of the presence of fresh coconut, pineapple, and yogurt in the ingredients. What makes this dish more interesting and more tempting to eat is the taste that complement to each other.

Preparation Method :

  • Rub the coconut against the coarse side of a grater, put into a saucepan and heat very gently until lightly browned.
  • Add the rice, water and a pinch of salt to the coconut in the saucepan. Bring the water to the boil.
  • Stir briskly with a fork, cover the pan, lower the heat and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, thread the pineapple and ham on to metal skewers.
  • Blend the oil and ginger; brush over the pineapple and ham.
  • Cook the kebabs under a preheated grill for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • To make the sauce, blend the yogurt and curry paste. Spoon into a sauceboat.
  • Serve the coconut rice on a heated dish, and place the kebabs on top.
  • Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams fresh coconut
  • 250 grams brown rice
  • 500 ml water
  • Salt

Kebabs

  • 2 small pineapple, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 750 grams cooked ham, cut in 1 thick slice and diced
  • 2 tablespoon IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Sauce

  • 500 ml plain low-fat yogurt
  • 4 teaspoons curry powder
