VERY DRY BEEF CURRY

1 hour

Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in large frying pan; cook onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chilli and lemon grass, stirring for about 3-5 minutes or until onions are soft.
  • Stir in the steak; cook for about 5 minutes or until steak is browned all over.
  • Stir in the water, bring to a boil; reduce heat, simmer, covered, for about an hour or until steak is tender and the liquid has evaporated.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 kg chuck steak, cubed
  • 400 ml water
  • 2 large brown onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 50 grams chopped fresh lemon grass
