BRAISED STEAK & ONIONS IN WHISKY SAUCE
The braised steak and onions in whisky sauce is packed with perfect ingredients. With its whisky sauce, the dish appears more delicious and juicy. Other ingredients like braising steaks, seasonings, beef stock, Worcester sauce, whisky, and haggis make the dish irresistible.

- Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 2/150°C/300°F.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Coat the steaks in the seasoned flour and brown them on both the sides, cooking for about 3 minutes each side.
- Lift them into a large deep casserole and sprinkle with the sliced baby onions or shallots.
- Slowly fry the haggis in the steak juices, breaking the slices up. Add the beef stock and whisky and cook for 10 minutes. Add the Worcester sauce, taste, then season with salt and pepper.
- Strain the sauce through a fine sieve over the steak and onions. Cover the casserole with a lid or cooking foil, place in the centre of the oven, cook for 2 hours until the meat turns tender, and serve.

- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 250 grams braising steaks, fat and gristle removed
- 75 grams flour, seasoned
- 500 grams (peeled weight) baby onions or shallots, sliced
- 175 grams haggis, thinly sliced
- 150 ml Basic Beef Stock
- 100 ml whisky
- 1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
