SPANISH HOT POT

The Spanish hot pot is mixed with flavorsome ingredients like stewing beef, butter, smoked ham, tomato puree, seasoned flour and other seasonings. Every bite is tendered with special flavorings. With its red Spanish wine, the dish comes out of its delicious and yummy taste.

3 hours 20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the butter and oil in a flameproof casserole, add the shallots and cook for a few minutes.
  • Dip the stewing steak into the seasoned flour and fry gently with the shallots for 10 minutes, sealing the beef thoroughly.
  • Add the tomatoes and garlic, cook for further 5 minutes.
  • Then add all the ingredients, except the corn flour paste, stirring them well, and cook slowly for 3 hours until tender.
  • Thicken with a little corn flour paste if needed, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 500 grams shallots, peeled and halved
  • 1 kg stewing beef, cut into 2.5cm (1 inch) cubes
  • Seasoned flour
  • 500 grams tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 250 grams button mushrooms, wiped and sliced
  • 225 grams smoked ham, finely chopped
  • 275 ml Basic Beef Stock
  • 275 ml red Spanish wine
  • 4 tablespoons tomato puree
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • A little corn flour blended to a paste with water (optional)
