CARBONNADE OF BEEF

The carbonnade of beef is made up of rump steak, butter, mushroom and other special seasonings. With its special flavorings, the dish looks more delicious and appetizing. Preparing this meal is extremely easy to prepare and can truly marks to the whole family.

2 hours 30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the steak all over, then transfer to a flameproof casserole.
  • Add butter to the frying pan and saute the onions, stir it constantly, until they turn to golden brown.
  • Add mushrooms and cook for further 2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with flour, stir well and add to the casserole.
  • Add Guinness and cook over a low heat for 2 hours.
  • Taste, season it again if needed, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg rump steak (all fat removed), cut into 2.5cm (1 inch) cubes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 500 grams of peeled and sliced onions
  • 250 grams button mushrooms, wiped and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • 250 ml Guinness
