SPICED BEEF AND LAMB BURGERS

These spiced Mediterranean burgers are made up of tasty components like pitta breads, minced beef, dried oregano and other seasonings. With its chili sauce, this excellent dish appears more delicious and appetizing. Each piece is tendered with tastier flavorings with aroma effects.

35 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the barbecue or grill.
  • Place the burger ingredients in a large bowl and blend the mixture with your hands carefully not to overwork it.
  • Form the mixture into 8 long oval sausage shapes, about 2.5cm thick.
  • Grill or fry the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side for rare, or to your taste.
  • Split the rolls or pitta breads without completely cutting through.
  • Remove some of the bread from the centre of the rolls.
  • Place the burgers in the rolls or pitta bread and garnish with the shallots, flat leaf parsley, tomatoes, coriander and Greek yoghurt.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 small baguette rolls or pitta breads

For the burgers

  • 450 grams finely minced beef
  • 450 grams finely minced lamb
  • ½ onion, peeled and finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsaley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chilli sauce
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For the garnish

  • 8 shallots, peeled and thinly sliced, mixed with chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 4 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • A few whole fresh coriander leaves
  • 150 ml plain Greek yoghurt (not ordinary yoghurt)
