SEARED AHI TUNA WITH WASABI SAUCE

Preparation Method :
- To make the sauce, whisk wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce in a small glass or nonreactive metal bowl until well blended. Let stand at room temperature.
- Preheat a grill pan over medium heat until very hot. Rub the steaks with the olive oil and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Grill each side for about 2-3 minutes, then hold with tongs to grill the edges for at least 1 minute on each side.
- Transfer the tuna to a cutting board and slice into ¼ inch crosswise strips.
- Transfer the strips to two plates and drizzle the wasabi sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon zest.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- ¼ teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 75 ml low-sodium soy sauce
- 175 grams sushi-grade ahi tuna steaks, brought to room temperature before cooking
- 2 tablespoons light olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- Zest of one lemon, removed with a zester
