WAFFLES WITH CARAMELIZED BANANAS

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together in a bowl.
  • Whisk the egg yolks, milk and melted butter, then stir this mixture into the dry ingredients to make a smooth batter.
  • Beat the egg whites in a glass bowl until stiff peaks form. Fold into the batter mixture.
  • Spoon 2 large tablespoons of the batter into a preheated waffle maker and cook.
  • The Caramelized Bananas: Melt the butter with the corn syrup in a pan over low heat and stir until combined.
  • Simmer to low flame for a few minutes or until the caramel thickens and darkens slightly.
  • Add the bananas and mix gently to coat. Pour over the warm waffles and serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 200 ml milk
  • 100 grams butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon superfine sugar

The Caramelized Bananas

  • 100 grams butter, cut into pieces
  • 3 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 3 large ripe bananas, peeled and thickly sliced
