CARAMELISED APPLES WITH TOASTED RAISIN BREAD

Preparation Method :

  • Toast the raisin bread under a preheated grill.
  • Place the lemon juice and rind, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon in a frying-pan. Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Add the apples to the pan and cook at least for 3-5 minutes or until it begins to caramelise, turning occasionally.
  • Spoon the caramelised apples over the raisin bread and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams apples, cored and sliced
  • 3 tablespoon light soft brown sugar 
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon 
  • 2 tablespoon butter 
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 small slices of raisin bread
