JAM TARTS

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Sieve maida, baking powder and salt.
  • Rub in butter till the dough resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Add powdered sugar.
  • Gradually add enough cold water to gather the dough into a rolling consistency.
  • Lightly flour the rolling board and roll out the pastry into 1/8-inch thickness.
  • Cut out shapes with a circular biscuit cutter to fit your tart mould without stretching.
  • Prick all over with a fork.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 200°C till light golden brown.
  • Fill with jam.
  • Decorate with thin strips of tart dough.
  • Bake again for 5-10 minutes at 150°C. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams maida
  • 100 grams butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon mixed fruit jam
  • 3 teaspoon powdered sugar
