MAWA ROLLS

Preparation Method :

  • For the pancakes, sieve refined flour, salt, baking powder, soda bicarbonate and sugar in a bowl. Add the grated mawa and mix.
  • Add milk and mix well. Ensure that there are no lumps. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan. Pour a ladleful of the batter and spread to a medium thickness. Cook till done on one side then flip and cook on the other side. Transfer onto a plate and set aside.
  • For the filling, heat a kadai, add grated mawa, milk and powdered sugar and cook till soft. Add cardamom powder, pistachios and almonds and mix. Take the mixture off the heat.
  • Place a pancake on a plate. Spread a little of the filling and roll. Make more rolls with the remaining batter and filling.
  • Cut the rolls diagonally in the middle and serve hot.

 

INGREDIENTS

Pancakes

  • 250 grams refined flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon soda bicarbonate
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 100 grams mawa, grated
  • 300 ml milk
  • Ghee for greasing

Filling

  • 1 kilogram mawa, grated
  • 100 ml milk
  • 15 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 teaspoons green cardamom powder
  • 50 grams pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 50 grams almonds, roughly chopped
