SHORTCRUST PASTRY

Makes :
500 grams

Preparation Time :
45 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Sift the flour and salt into a clean bowl, then gently rub in the butter and lard until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add enough of cold water to make a stiff dough.
  • Press the dough together with your fingertips.
  • Sprinkle it with a little sifted flour, then roll the pastry out on a lightly floured surface, and use or refrigerate until ready to use.

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams plain flour, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 75 grams of butter
  • 75 grams good-quality lard
  • Extra sifted flour
