Preparation Method :
- Put the lard in a saucepan with 200ml hot water and heat it gently until the lard melts.
- Bring to the boil, remove from the heat and beat the seasoned flour to form soft dough.
- Beat the egg yolk into dough, cover the dough with a damp cloth and leave to rest in a warm place for atleast 15 minutes.
- Do not allow the dough to cool.
- Roll out the pastry and pat two-thirds of it into the base and sides of the pie tin.
- Distribute it evenly to leave space for the pie filling.
- Use the remaining pastry for the lid.

- 150 grams lard
- 350 grams plain flour seasoned with ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg yolk
