BROILED CINNAMON ORANGES

Preparation Method :

  • Peel the fruit with a sharp knife, remove all the pith and cut into horizontally thick slices.
  • Place the orange halves, cut side up, in a shallow, heatproof dish.
  • Bring slices back together to reform the orange.
  • Mix the cinnamon with the sugar in a small bowl and sprinkle evenly over the orange halves.
  • Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F / Gas mark 5.
  • Bake the orange halves under the preheated oven for about 10 - 15 minutes or until the sugar has caramelized and is golden and bubbling. Serve immediately.

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon raw brown sugar
  • 4 large oranges, halved, pith discarded
