SPICED FRUIT COMPOTE

Preparation Method :
- Put the dried fruit in a bowl and pour over the orange juice and water.
- Add the spices and leave to soak overnight. Alternatively, pour over boiling juice and water and soak for a few hours.
- Transfer to a pan and bring to the boil. Lower the heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the fruit is tender, adding more water if the syrup becomes absorbed. Remove the spices.
- Sprinkle with the slivered almonds and serve warm or cold with low-fat yogurt, if liked.

- 750 grams mixed dried fruit
- 500 ml orange juice
- 500 ml water
- 2 cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 100 grams blanched slivered almonds
- Plain low-fat yogurt, to serve
