GLAZED BUTTERSCOTCH APPLES

- Peel and core the apples and cut each one into 8 wedges. Heat the butter in a frying pan (skillet) and add the apples.
- Cover the pan and cook over a very low heat, turning now and again, for about 10 minutes until the apples begin to soften.
- Sprinkle with salt, sugar and cinnamon and continue cooking and turning for 10 to 15 minutes until the apples are quite soft.
- Serve warm with cream or ice cream. If wished, a little dark rum may be heated, poured over the apples, and set alight.

- 4 large tart apples
- 50 gram butter
- Pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon whipped cream or ice cream, to serve
