APPLE CRUMBLE

Preparation Method :

  • Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the apples and cook till soft for about 10 minutes. Don't mash the slices. Drain. Mix in the cinnamon powder and the lemon juice.
  • Grease a glass oven-proof container. Put the apple mixture at the bottom.
  • Process the oats, brown sugar and flour in a food processor till the oats are ground into slightly smaller pieces.
  • Add cubes of the cold butter to the flour mixture and rub till it looks like fine breadcrumbs. Put it on top of the prepared fruit.
  • Bake at 160°C / 325°F for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and the juices start bubbling. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 120 grams cold unsalted butter
  • 150 grams brown sugar
  • 100 grams an equal combination of refined flour and wheat flour
  • 100 grams rolled oats
  • 6 apples, peeled and sliced
  • ½ teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Vanilla ice cream to serve
