MAKHMALI CHICKEN MASALA

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix together milk with water. Heat and bring to boil.
  • Grind together ginger, garlic along with all the saboot masalas. Use a little water if required.
  • Add the ground masala with red chili powder and ¼ teaspoon salt.
  • Few minutes later add in chicken .Simmer,cover and cook till chicken is tender and completely dry. Remove from fire. Cool.
  • To the cooked chicken add all the coating ingredients. Mix well.
  • Heat oil and fry 2-3 pieces at a time to a golden brown colour.
  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan. Add onion and capsicum pieces. Stir for a few minutes till onions turn soft. Add little salt and tomato puree,cook for about 2 minutes on low heat.
  • Add fried chicken pieces. Sprinkle garam masala. Toss for a minute till the chicken turns hot and soft. Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams chicken - cut into pieces
  • 150 ml milk 
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Grind together to a Paste

  • 3 green cardamoms
  • 1" stick Cinnamon 
  • ¾ teaspoon fennel 
  • 2 peppercorns
  • 2 cloves 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon coriander seeds 
  • ½ " piece ginger
  • 2-3 flakes garlic

Coating

  • 100 grams gram flour
  • 75 ml curd
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander 
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red chili powder 
  • ¼ teaspoon carom seeds

Other Ingredients

  • 50 ml IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 2 capsicums - cut into 1" pieces
  • 2 onions - cut into 4 pieces 
  • 200 grams tomato puree
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
