HONEY AND SESAME CHICKEN

Chicken Fillets, Honey and Sesame Seeds – What a great combination! You can imagine the taste of this all-time favourite dish's mixture of sweet and sour sauce. With a mild spicy taste of ginger and distinct aroma of celery, this is just perfect for your lunch or dinner.

40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Place the chicken fillets in a saucepan with water to cover. Add the celery leaves and onion and slowly bring just to simmering point.
  • Cover and poach over a very gentle heat for 6 to Turn off the heat and allow the chicken to cool in the liquid.
  • Slice the meat thinly. Arrange on a platter.
  • Mix the honey, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt and five-spice powder in a small bowl until well blended.
  • Spoon over the chicken. Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
  • Before serving, mi onions and ginger and sprinkle over chicken. Top with sesame seeds.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams chicken fillets
  • Few celery leaves
  • 1 large onion, halved
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 3 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon IDHAYAM Sambandhi sesame seeds, toasted
