DHANSAK

May you love preparing Dhansak dish that would feed you up! Not only would you enjoy this food but as well as those people in your house! Share with them the method and ingredients of Dhansak. They’ll probably be happy once they’ve tasted it.

30 minutes

Cooking Time :
40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Grind the masala to a fine paste and set aside.
  • Soak the dais and boil them along with the meat. When half done, add vegetables.
  • Remove from fire when well cooked.
  • Heat oil in deep thick pan and first fry sliced onions, then the tomatoes and the masala.
  • When masala becomes dry and oil separates, transfer the meat mixture into this and cook for a few minutes more.
  • Remove from fire when the gravy becomes smooth and thick.
  • Add lime juice.
  • Serve with boiled rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kilogram chicken meat - cut in large piece
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 250 grams mixed vegetables (red and white pumpkin and potato)
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 10 flakes of garlic
  • A few coriander and mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
  • 1 teaspoon jeera
  • 250 grams mixed dhals (mung, masoor, tuvar, chana, etc.)
  • 4 onions 
  • 150 ml oil
  • 2 teaspoon chilly powder
  • 6 green chilies
  • 1 piece ginger
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 large lime
  • Salt to taste
