XACUTI CHICKEN CURRY

Enjoy this spices filled Xacuti Chicken Curry. It’s the perfect stimulant for a fun culinary evening. The main course with character that will impress your party and that will give an additional spice to the evening.

Preparation Time :
45 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Take a pan and add some Sesame Oil (2 Tablespoons) and fry the Masala ingredients in it. Now grind the roasted spices together with 1 onion.
  • Then grate one Coconut and extract the milk.
  • Grate the other Coconut and roast it in a pan. Then grind it finely.
  • Take the Chicken, wash it and cut it into small pieces, add the Salt and the Turmeric Powder and set aside for 15 minutes to let it soak in. Then cook the chicken with a little bit of Water until the water dries out.
  • After that, finely chop the other onions, and sauté them until these reach a golden brown color.
  • Add to it the cooked Chicken, the Ground Spices, the Ground Coconut and 1 Cup of Water. Let it all cook for about 10 minutes.
  • Then add the Coconut Milk and the Tamarind and cook until everything is well blended.
  • Serve hot. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 Kg (3.3 pounds) of Chicken (cut in pieces)
  • 3 Large Onions
  • 2 Coconuts
  • ½ Teaspoon of Tamarind Concentrate
  • 1½ Teaspoons of Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste as preferred

Masala Ingredients

  • 9 Red Chilies
  • 1 Teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
  • 8 Garlic Flakes
  • 2 Teaspoons of Poppy Seeds
  • 5 Cloves
  • 2 Tablespoons of Coriander Seeds
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Dogorful
  • 1 Teaspoon of Peppercorns
  • 1 Piece of Turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon of Caraway Seeds (Shahjeera)
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Cardamoms
  • 1 Teaspoon of Aniseeds
  • 1 Teaspoon of Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil
  • Salt to taste as preferred
