Preparation Method :
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the onions and fry gently for 10 minutes until caramelized. Remove from the heat.
- Place the cheese, eggs, Carnation Milk, nutmeg and pepper in a bowl and whisk lightly until smooth. Stir in the cooked onions and grated cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F/ Gas Mark 5.
- Roll out the pastry and line a 9 inch round, deep, loose-bottomed, fluted flan tin. Chill for about 15-20 minutes, Blind bake the pastry case for about 10-12 minutes.
- Pour the onion filling into the pastry case and bake for 30 minutes or until the filling sets. Serve warm.

- 250 grams Cheddar cheese, grated
- 50 grams butter
- 2 onions, sliced into rings
- 4 eggs
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Black pepper
