MASALA TEA

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Bring the water, milk and sugar to the boil. Simmer for a minute or two.
  • Add the tea leaves and simmer gently for a minute, add little tea masala powder and simmer for another one more minute.
  • Remove from heat and strain into serving cups.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1-1½ teaspoon tea leaves of your preferred blend
  • 150 ml, cold water
  • 100 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • Granulated sugar to taste

Tea Masala Powder (ground to coarse powder, store in an airtight container)

  • ½ teaspoon powdered ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 2 brown cardamom pods, seeds only
  • 1 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 4 green cardamom pods, seeds only
