CIABATTA SANDWICHES

Preparation Method :

  • Cut loaf of bread in half through the centre horizontally, brush the cut sides with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle the bottom halves with salt and pepper to taste, then divide the tomato halves among the bottom pieces of bread, cut sides down.
  • Top each sandwich base with 2 slices of prosciutto, folded to fit as necessary, then add fresh basil leaves.
  • Place the tops on the sandwiches and press down, crushing the tomatoes into the bread.
  • Toast the sandwiches lightly, to brown and crisp the crust, turning them once. Serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 220 grams cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoon Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 8 thin slices prosciutto
  • 2 loaves ciabatta bread, each cut in half
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 small bunch fresh basil leaves
