SOUR CREAM COOKIES

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Beat butter, essence, sugar and yolk in small bowl until smooth. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and cream.
  • Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls, place on greased oven trays, flatten with fork.
  • Bake in hot oven about 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
  • Dip tops of biscuits into citrus icing; leave to set on wire racks.
  • Citrus Icing: Sift icing sugar into small heatproof bowl. Stir in rind, lemon juice and enough orange juice to make a stiff paste. Stir over hot water until spreadable.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams self-raising flour
  • 50 grams butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 50 grams castor sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 egg yolk

Citrus Icing

  • 150 grams icing sugar mixture
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon grated orange rind
