Preparation Method :
- Place the ground steak, onion, garlic, mustard and pepper in a large bowl, mix together thoroughly, squeeze.
- Shape into equal-size burgers, then cover and let chill for about 20 - 30 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a heavy-bottom skillet. Add the onions and saute over low heat until soft.
- Add the sugar and cook for 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally or until the onions have caramelized. Drain well on paper towels and keep warm.
- Cook the burgers on the barbecue, check that they are very firm and brush generously with oil. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side.
- Split the buns for serving and toast them, cut sides down on the barbecue. Serve the burgers in the buns with the onions.

- 1 onion, grated
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 teaspoon whole-grain mustard
- Pepper, to taste

- 2 tablespoon cooking oil
- Burger buns or soft rolls, to serve
