MALTED MILK BISCUITS

Preparation Method :

  • Malt Icing: Sift icing sugar into small heatproof bowl, stir in butter, malted milk powder and enough milk to make a stiff paste. Stir over hot water until spreadable.
  • Beat butter and sugar in small mixing bowl until smooth, then Stir in the milk powder, sifted flour, condesned milk and cooled chocolate.
  • Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into golf balls, place on greased oven trays; flatten slightly.
  • Bake in moderate oven about 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on trays.
  • Spread biscuits with malt icing, then press into coconut before icing is set.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams self-raising flour
  • 150 grams dark chocolate, melted
  • 50 grams desiccated coconut, toasted
  • 150 grams butter
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 50 grams malted milk powder
  • 50 ml sweetened condensed milk

Malt Icing

  • 1 tablespoon malted milk powder
  • 250 grams icing sugar mixture
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon soft butter
