Preparation Method :
- Combine butter and golden syrup in large pan, stir over heat until butter is melted, bring to boil; remove from heat, allow to stand 10 minutes.
- Stir in sifted dry ingredients, milk and peel, cover, stand 2 hours. Knead dough on lightly floured surface until it loses its stickiness.
- Roll dough out on floured surface. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Place shapes on greased oven trays.
- Make indentations in centre of shapes, fill it with jam. Bake in moderate oven about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on trays.
- Dip bases of biscuits in combined chocolate and oil, smooth off excess. Place biscuits, jam side down on foil- covered trays; leave until set.

- 200 grams dark chocolate, melted
- 50 grams butter
- 150 ml golden syrup
- 250 grams plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon cocoa
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 teaspoons cooking oil
