FISH BAKED (RED MASALA)

Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a pan and brown all the minced ingredients. Add the ground masala paste and fry well. Add vinegar and salt.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook for a while. If the fish is filleted, mix it with the red masala mixture.
  • Line a vessel with plantain leaves and put in the fish smeared with tomato sauce on the top and back. If plantain leaves are not available, put the fish in a saucepan.
  • Keep the saucepan on the fire with coals on top and below the saucepan. Bake till the fish is well-cooked.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Fish fillets, cleaned
  • 100 grams Onions, minced 
  • ½ " piece Ginger, minced 
  • 3-4 Garlic, peeled and minced 
  • 2-3 Green chillies, minced 
  • 250 grams Tomatoes, minced
  • 100 ml Tomato sauce 
  • 100 ml Cooking oil 
  • Salt and vinegar to taste

Grind to a paste

  • 10-12 dry Red chillies 
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic peeled 
  • Marble-sized ball Tamarind
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
