CHEESY BAKED FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Cook the fish along with salad oil, ginger, one tomato, lemon slices and salt. When cooked, shred it and separate the stock.
  • White Sauce: Boil the cornflour mixture on a low flame. When it thickens, add one cup stock with grated cheese and mustard powder. Remove from the flame and cool.
  • When the sauce cools, add the egg yolks. Beat the whites till stiff and fold in just before baking.
  • Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the fish with the onions and tomatoes.
  • Pour the sauce on top along with the butter. Sprinkle cheese and bake in a moderately hot oven till well browned on top.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 550 grams White-flesh fish, cleaned, filleted and washed    
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 200 ml Stock
  • 90 grams grated Cheese
  • 100 grams Onions, thinly sliced
  • 100 grams Tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 50 grams Butter, softened    
  • 75 ml Salad oil    
  • 75 grams Corn flour, mixed with water
  • ½ piece Ginger, minced    
  • 2-3Green chillies, minced    
  • 1 Lemon, sliced    
  • 2 Eggs, separated    
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds, powdered    
  • Salt to taste
