Preparation Method :
- Beat the eggs with double cream in a large mixing bowl. Beat in grated Gruyere and Parmesan cheese. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Add sliced potatoes to mixture and mix well to ensure potato slices are evenly coated.
- Pour potato mixture into a buttered 9 x10 inch gratin dish. Top with grated Gruyere cheese and dot with diced butter.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C / 325°F / Gas mark 3 for about an hour or until potatoes are tender. Serve immediately.
INGREDIENTS
- 550 grams potatoes, washed and peeled, slice to ¼ inch thickness
- 60 grams gruyere cheese, grated
- 400 ml double cream
- 50 grams parmesan cheese, grated
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- Ground black pepper and salt to taste
- A pinch grated nutmeg
Topping
- 50 grams Gruyere cheese, grated
- 25 grams Butter, diced
