Preparation Method :
- Place the chick peas, butter beans and kidney beans in a bowl and cover with cold water. Leave to soak overnight.
- Drain the peas and beans, rinse, then place in a pan and cover with fresh cold water. Bring to the boil, boil for 10 minutes, then simmer for 40 to 45 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse under cold water.
- Return the beans to the pan and add the garlic, onion, tomatoes with their juice, green pepper, ginger, cloves, stock and salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 1 hour, adding water if the mixture becomes too dry. Add salt and pepper to taste, then transfer to a warmed serving dish.
- Garnish with parsley. Serve with cheese and crusty rolls.

- 100 grams dried chick peas
- 100 grams dried butter beans
- 100 grams dried red kidney beans
- 2 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 onion, chopped
- 800 grams tomatoes
- 2 green pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground doves
- 300 ml stock
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- Chopped parsley to garnish
