PrintAMERICAN MEATLOAF
Most of the favourite and easiest dish is the American meatloaf. This dish usually prepared in Christmas party and restaurant there. There is also an American meatloaf preserved in can. These are the basic ingredients finely minced beef, finely minced pork, fresh white breadcrumbs best butter, eggs well beaten and crushed thyme leaves.

Preparation Method :
- Put the minced beef, pork, breadcrumbs and seasoning in a large bowl and mix them all together.
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large saucepan and cook the shallots, garlic and celery for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the red wine and cook for further 3 minutes.
- Allow the wine mixture to cool slightly and then pour it over the meat and breadcrumbs.
- Sprinkle with allspice and thyme, add the beaten eggs and mix it thoroughly.
- Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 3/170°C/325°F and take a 1.8kg loaf tin, butter it and line it with grease proof paper.
- Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and leave it to settle for 10-15 minutes.
- Bake in the centre of the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Remove from the oven, baste it with a little red wine and leave to cool. Refrigerate for atleast 2 hours, then slice and serve.

- 900 grams finely minced beef
- 450 grams finely minced pork
- 250 grams fresh white breadcrumbs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 3 tablespoons best butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 9 shallots, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, washed and finely chopped
- 150 ml red wine
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon crushed fresh thyme leaves
- 2 eggs, well beaten
