BAKED TROUT

Preparing a Baked Trout is a type of sea foods which is usually prepared during camp fire or any outdoor kinds of outdoor activities. This is easy to prepare since you need to is to prepare a fish and simply marinated with the required ingredients and then bake it for about forty minutes.

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a large, shallow flameproof casserole or heavy-based pan.
  • Add the garlic and onions and fry gently for 5 minutes until the onions are soft and golden, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the mushrooms, capers, flour and ground almonds and fry gently for a further 3 minutes.
  • Put the trout on top of the onion mixture, and then sprinkle with the parsley, marjoram, salt and pepper. Pour on the stock.
  • Bake in a preheated moderately hot oven 25 minutes, basting twice.
  • Garnish with sprigs of parsley and sprinkle with toasted almonds.
  • Serve with green beans and boiled new potatoes.   

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 4 onions, peeled and finely chopped
  • 200 grams mushrooms, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons capers 
  • 4 tablespoons whole meal flour
  • 50 grams ground almonds
  • 500 grams trout, cleaned, washed and dried 
  • 4 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • Pinch of chopped marjoram 
  • 2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 300 ml chicken stock

Garnish

  • Parsley sprigs 
  • Toasted flaked almonds
