BRIDES PIE

This Brides Pie is a pastry made with chicken and ham. This dish is very simple to make, all you need is to master the preparation of the crust, and all other ingredients are just layered and included. This is very simple to cook but tastes very delicious.

Preparation Time :
50 minutes

Cooking Time :
1 hour 15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Put maida into a thali.
  • Cut butter into cubes and rub into the flour until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
  • Now add enough water and form into a dough and keep aside.
  • Apply salt and pepper to the meat and fry in the butter until golden brown.
  • Arrange the chicken pieces in a greased over proof dish, alterating with ham and peas.
  • Add onion slices and wine.
  • Pour the beaten egg over it.
  • Now roll out the pastry into 1/4" thickness and to the length of the dish.
  • Spread it over the meat and seal the edges.
  • Pick all over with a fork.
  • Bake till pastry is cooked. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ kg Tender chicken - jointed 
  • 5 tablespoon butter 
  • 100 grams sliced ham
  • 2 onions sliced
  • 2 wine glass of white
  • 250 ml cooked peas wine
  • 2 egg - beaten
  • Salt & pepper to taste 

For the pastry

  • 250 grams maida 
  • 150 grams butter or margarine 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Water to mix
