ALMOND FINGERS

Makes :
30 Fingers

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
35 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Slice each filo sheet into three rectangles.
  • Brush each rectangle with the melted butter.
  • Preheat the oven to 160°C / 325°F / Gas Mark 3.
  • Mix the sugar, almonds, cinnamon and rose water together, and place about a teaspoon of this in the centre of each rectangle.
  • Fold the sides in and roll into a cigar shape.
  • Place in rows on a greased baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes, or until the pastry turns pale gold.
  • Remove, cool and dust with icing sugar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 sheets filo pastry
  • 100 grams unsalted butter,melted 
  • 60 grams sugar 
  • 100 grams ground almonds 
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon 
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • Icing sugar, to sprinkle
